True Grit : The First Five Years offers up 73 minutes of loud and rowdy outlaw music culled from Hammerlock’s legendary first two CDs, American Asshole and Anthems For Outlaws. (Originally released on Man’s Ruin and out of print since late 2000.) The CD features 29 handpicked, re-sequenced and remastered tracks plus a swanky 12 page booklet chock full of rarely seen early photos from the Kenney archives, liner notes by long-standing allies Thee Whiskey Rebel (Rancid Vat) and Joe Franke (Fracas), and a mini-history of the band's first five years by Liza.
